NOSDOOODGIA V.2: NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

Second up to bat, the NES or a.k.a. Nintendo Entertainment System. This system brought countless hours of fun and entertainment for me. Released in 1984, this system went head to head with SEGA’s Master System. 8 bit power of the 80’s lasted until the end of the decade. I was finally able to acquire this system in what I believe was 1987 when the system became cheaper and bundled with more hardware. Thank you MOM! The bundle package came with the NES “ZAPPER” and the “Power Pad” (not pictured).

People with this first generation NES, did you ever notice the port and design on the bottom of the console? I believe this was planned for use of the Diskette system that was released in Japan on their FAMICOM system but was never conceived or released to the North American or NES market.

It would of been cool to have had save and expansion ports for the games. We never get the good stuff here.

See where LEGO Darth Vader is standing, the port is covered by a removable lid. The expansion port itself was never finished and was covered by what seems to be a cut away piece.

However, we did have something pretty cool…….
