JAPANESE BEVERAGE REVIEW PART 2: FANTA ORANGE

Fanta is not so much of a big and popular brand here in the states.  (At least not that I know of locally).  However, you can find Fanta all over Hong Kong and Japan.  Next up for review is Fanta Orange from Japan.  I bought this can at one of the hundreds of vending machines at the Narita Airport in Japan.  Compared to Fanta Orange in the U.S.  …Japanese Fanta Orange is far superior right from the first sip.  The drink does not leave a sweet aftertaste and is not sweet period.  It actually tastes like a fresh orange in soda form.  I’d have to say it is because they use real sugar and totally use a different formula in Asia.  Fanta Orange from Japan tastes wayyyyy better than Fanta Orange here. Too bad I only got a hold of the small can.  I really wanted more.

JAPANESE BEVERAGE REVIEW: ASAHI SUPER H20

Picked up a few drinks to kill off my loose change in Japan before coming back home.  First drink I tried is Asahi’s Super H20.  Asahi usually known for their beer also makes a bunch of other non alcoholic beverages.  Super H20 is like a mineral drink very similar to our Gatorade which replenishes electrolytes in our bodies.   If you have ever had Pocari Sweat, Super H20 is very similar.  However in my opinion, the taste is much lighter than Pocari Sweat.  Less saltiness from the minerals.  Very refreshing. The taste is a slight Citrus flavor.  I wish this drink was more readily available in the states.  Way better than our corn syrup based Gatorade and soda.

TOYS FROM HK x JAPAN

Picked up a few toys from HK and Japan.  Usually I would come back with a full luggage of them.  I held back this time.  The actual items I was looking for were not released or were sold out.  This is what I picked up for shitz and giggles.

Marvel characters from Japan.  Boxes actually said for sale in Japan only.  They keep all the cool things to themselves. Super deformed super heroes.

Nendroid Haruhi Suzimiya figures.   Picked up one from a store in Akihabara.  Toys were mystery as you dont know what you’re going to get until you open it.  I spent 500 YEN and got a Mikuru.   My buddy Charlie got me the other version from the same place.  I think I may have to start getting Nendroids.  Pretty damn cool

Geniune Asimo doll from the Tokyo Auto Salon.  Made in Japan from the Honda Motor Company.  Pretty damn cool to get genuine merchandise from Honda of Japan.  The booth I got it from was the Suzuka Circuit store.   Double coolness!

This is the only cool toy from HK.  EBBRO Mugen S2000 1:43 scale.

So many toys I want, so little space and money.  Damn Otaku.

KIKSTYO :: AIR JORDAN :: AIR MAX CURRENT/BEN DRURY

Haven’t been able to organize the Japan photos yet.  But I did get snaps of some new kicks and clothes from the trip.

Did a lot of shopping in HK and Japan.  Mostly Japan in the Shibuya and Harajuku district.  KIKSTYO was one destination that was definitely on the list to go to.  More info on KIKSTYO here:  www.kikstyo.com

KIKSTYO does shoes and clothes in collaboration with major shoe brands, artists, models and pop culture brands.  Their head office is located in Shibuya Tokyo, Japan.  Very small and very boutique’ish.  Clothes are quite expensive…but I’ll never find these here in the states easily.

SUPREME is another store we hit up.  Based out of New York, Supreme carries a full line of clothes based on the skate, artist and hip-hop culture.  With 5 locations in Japan, I was able to visit the Osaka and Harajuku locations on my visit.

ATMOS was the other major destination we hit up.  ATMOS Tokyo is a shoe/clothes store that also does major collaborations with Nike, New Balance, North Face and the kind.

Didn’t pick these up in Japan…but I took a better picture of the Jordan V’s deadstock I picked up a while ago from my good friend Jon.

Acquired the Air Jordan Countdown 11/12 pack from my good friend Darren!!!

Picked up the Air Max Current Artist Pack Ben Drury’s from Mongkok Hong Kong.  Good price…and not easy to find here in the states.

Picked up the KIKSTYO gear from Mongkok Hong Kong and Shibuya Tokyo, Japan and Yokohama Japan.   Tech Challenge TEE, Espionage Exclusive YUKO ISHIDA TEE, KIKSTYO Basic TEE and the KIKSTYO Hoodie.

Hopefully I get the Japan pictures organized soon.  hehe…
